Harry Potter Studios London Trip!

Monday 17th August

That’s right I am actually in London ready for tomorrow’s magical trip to Warner Bros Studio tour! I’m so excited, I am a MAJOR Harry Potter nerd. So much so that I just made my brother complete sparknote quizzes on all of the books/films so he doesn’t embarrass a) me and b) himself, tomorrow… I KID YOU NOT.

So I am aware that this is a little outside what we would usually post and is more about my life rather than helping you all towards your recoveries but I hope that somehow you can appreciate (as I am) the you massive recovery win that is this entire trip.

So about 5/6 months ago I was at the inpatient ED ward and not in a very good place at all. My parents booked this trip as an incentive for me to recover and get out of hospital. Unfortunately at the time I wasn’t even allowed outside for fresh air and I didn’t really see any future so it didn’t really motivate me. I didn’t think I’d be home forΒ  Christmas never mind the Summer holidays.

But now I am getting home leave and I was granted leave to come to London with my family πŸ˜€ I am now in a much better place and although still struggling with thoughts and my mood (details in a future post) I am now capable of resisting the thoughts and not acting on them so often.

In addition to that we will be eating out a lot on our trip which is still a bit of a challenge for me (old habits and all) but I have already pushed through that tonight at a lovely Giraffe restaurant and I faced several previous fears again

Drinking calories used to be a fear for me – probably because of the Ensures (supplement drinks) but now..pah! Smoothies and milkshakes all the way – screw you anorexia.

We also had the Greek Mezze and Nachos sharing starters which were delicious. Nom. More updates tomorrow when I will be mega fangirling pretty much all day…

Tuesday 18th August

Today was really good πŸ™‚ It definitely brought out my inner fan girl/ Harry Potter nerd (not that it’s exactly hidden most of the time!)

I decided to try and dress like Luna not just because I love her character but also because I find the story of how Evanna Lynch came to play her quite inspiring. It also shows just how awesome J.K Rowling is.

I did take about a gamillion pictures but I won’t bore you with them all. Instead I’ll show you a picture of my cake β™₯ I decided to challenge myself with a dessert with my dinner and it was definitely worth it. C’est trΓ¨s yummy.

I hope you enjoyed reading this as I am really proud that I was able to come on this trip.
I hope you have all had a great day.
*Air hugs*
